As much as I love my two furballs, I have to say I’m not a huge fan of tiny dogs. Especially around here, they have a bad reputation for being yappy and high strung. I especially have disdain for Yorkies – I don’t see the attraction, and I certainly don’t think they are cute.
All of these statements changed a little bit in the past few days while we have had the pleasure, or adventure, really, of dog sitting a friend’s toy-sized Yorkie. Enter Gidget. Seven pounds of anxiety, scurrying and most of all, love.
Which bed is the best?
A few weeks ago, M&M visited Gidget’s house and Murray, who would rather hold it to eternity than go potty inside, promptly peed on our friend’s entertainment center. Minnie then attempted to devour Gidget. Needless to say, our first impression was a bit rocky. However, being that Gidget can be carried virtually anywhere, I figured we’d be safe enough to watch her since she could just sit in our laps if all else failed.
What should we do today?
Left: Decidedly, the pod bed is the best. Right: Skyping with Mozart, M&M’s uncle. He’s a silky.
After a few shifty eyed glances at each other, the three pups have settled in well and haven’t had any mishaps. Well, there was the nervous pee, the vomiting and the poo stuck to her fur, poor girl, but other than that, we’ve had a lot of fun. We played Goldilocks, with Gidget trying out all the dog beds in the house before deciding her own pod was the most comfortable. Then there was laundry, conquering Mt. Ugly Curtain, and playing hide and seek. All the time. She even got a bath to clean off the accidents!
When Gidgy goes home to Mom and Dad (and a new human baby brother!), we will be sad, but she will alas eat in peace. She has to go home tomorrow because we are leaving the following day for our first big trip! Here’s a few clues.
The weather forecast for our destination:
That’s Celsius, folks.
This weekend, I managed to snag a deal on a necessary clothing item for our trip, surprisingly at Home Plus. Original price: 258,000 won; I walked away for 39,000 (~$40)!
A tween-years idol of mine.
And finally, I’ll need to put away my hair straightener and rely on our hotels for a hair dryer since we’re going somewhere with a different electric system. I’ll reveal our destination soon, but anybody want to take a guess? Those of you that don’t already know, of course.
