So a few of you guessed we are headed to Sochi for the Olympics. As much as I wish this were true, sadly we are not going that direction. However, for those of you dying to know how I’d celebrate the Olympic opening ceremonies, I have a treat for you in a couple of weeks!
In a couple of hours, we’ll leave the house to drop off the dogs so we can catch our flight to Tokyo! It is almost Lunar New Year weekend here, and we hear the crowds are like traveling on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. So, though our flight doesn’t depart until later this afternoon, we’re getting an early start to the day – complete with conference calls for work before we go off the radar.
This trip is going to be a complete whirlwind – four different hotels in four nights! I can explain that booking nightmare another time. We’re going to catch some nightlife in Tokyo, have a visit with some special winter-weather mammalian creatures, and hit the slopes near Nagano, which is where the 1998 Winter Olympics were held. Did you recognize Tara Lipinski in my last post? Don’t worry, I won’t come back and post photos of myself in a leotard attempting a triple lutz. No one wants to see that.
I’m all packed up with my new ski goggles, ski pants, our new GoPro camera, and my guide book. Ready for another stamp in the passport! The only question is, board or skis?
